Throwin' shade is a good thing.
Founded in 2020 by husband-and-wife Kandice Rogers & Aaron Holmes, GrowinShade brings shade-loving houseplants, original accessories and hands-on workshops to Islip, all year round.

Long Island's South Shore had beautiful nurseries, but most were seasonal and closed in winter. There was nowhere to buy houseplants all year, so Kandice and Aaron, with backgrounds in design and construction, opened one. True to the name, the shop specializes in plants that thrive in shade, for homes without sun streaming through every window.
We believe in nurturing creativity & cultivating a love for plants. Our workshops inspire, educate, and connect people through the power of plants.
